Spring is such a beautiful time of the year in Clay County. The mountainsides spring to life with vibrant flowers of all colors and the trees start to turn their luscious green.

This is the perfect season to enjoy the walking trails around the community, the Friday night concerts at the John C. Campbell Folk School, or take in one of the wonderful plays at our Peacock Playhouse. Since the weather can be a little unpredictable, you might want to just plan on enjoying the beautiful scenery and reading a good book!

Some may enjoy the Saturday Night Cruise-in at Jacky Jones Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership on the first Saturday of the month. Members of Classic Wheels Car Club meet together to enjoy each other’s other love…their classic vehicles. Even if you don’t have a classic, but wish you did, come join the fellowship.

The beginning of May brings the Rhododendron Festival just 10 miles away in Hiawassee, Georgia. Every year at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds visitors and locals alike enjoy the beautiful Rhododendrons in full bloom. Towards the middle of May they have the Georgia Mountain Bluegrass Festival.

To close Spring out make sure to go on the Mountain Adventure Artist’s Studio Tour. This is on Memorial Weekend and is a perfect way to see the area’s artistic talents inside the studio and see Mother Nature’s talent outside. Enjoy the quiet countryside while driving to each of the studios.
